As we have noted in our previous emails that Day Camp will be moving into an @Home & online format. Each participating family will be provided with a Day Camp at Home pack that will contain materials and instructions for activities to complete at home during the 4 days. This materials will be self-directed, as much as possible. There will also be an optional online assembly each morning and an optional online catch-up session in the afternoon. We’re offering these online sessions to provide participants with the opportunity to connect & share with leaders and other campers during this time.
The directors are working hard to see how this can not only work but be beneficial for families during COVID19. We hear from families that having their children sit in front of screens for school can be tiring and are wanting them to take a break from screens during holidays. That’s why we’re making packs with a number of activities to engage children around the Day Camp theme. If have any ideas or questions please let our Coordinator Jill Ross know email@example.com
We love our Fusion team and it’s sad that we can’t have our fusion team developing their leadership skills this year through the whole of day camp. However, we are wanting to still make leadership development happen so we are looking at ways of how this can be done, even just for a couple of hours, on one day. Friends, we know that we will face the same challenge of balance with screens, so if you have any ideas please contact the Coordinator.
Day Camp can’t happen without the support of our awesome leaders who volunteer their week of holidays to be with a group of awesome kids! Moving to our @Home format, it will be tricky as there won’t be the conventional day camp grouping – however here is a Leader SURVEY to complete if you can help because Day Camp still needs your help!
